New destinations and new boats added for Boat Club Trafalgar members

Boat Club Trafalgar are extending the cruising areas and destinations available to club members to include Christchurch Bay, Swanage and Studland Bays and Poole Harbour. The club, which is one of the pioneers of creating more accessible boating in the UK, has experienced a 70% growth in membership since the start of the pandemic and has recently added two new boats to its fleet to ensure a wide choice of boats are always available for booking.

Based in Portsmouth Harbour, all Boat Club Trafalgar members get to cruise the length and breadth of the Solent following their initial comprehensive training using the Club’s range of premium brand RIBs, sportsboats and cabin cruisers for a monthly subscription fee.

Now members can choose to extend their cruising range to include Chichester and Langstone Harbours to the east, and Swanage, Studland and Poole Harbour to the west. This simply requires completing bespoke induction sessions or appropriate RYA training to demonstrate they have the required level of experience, navigational, seamanship and safety skills.

Boat Club Trafalgar’s MD Jonny Boys explains, “We are thrilled to be opening up this new area for our members. Over 58% of our members have never owned a boat before they join the Boat Club and we pride ourselves on helping them all gain and build their boating skills to get the absolute most out of their boating adventures, without any of the hassles normally associated with owning a boat. Extending our range to Swanage, Studland and Poole means that those members who are keen to spend nights away and push themselves a bit further will have fantastic cruising in these stunning destinations.”

Adam Shanley, Boat Club Trafalgar member for two years adds, “We love being members of Boat Club Trafalgar – the team are so friendly and make going boating for my family so easy. Now to have access by boat to the beaches at Swanage, Studland and around Poole will be fabulous, especially with the school holidays approaching. It means we’ll be able to really make the most of our family time, whilst knowing we are spending far less than if we owned a boat ourselves.”

Two new boats added to the fleet

In addition, the club have recently added a brand new multipurpose Merry Fisher 695 cabin cruiser and a sporty Axopar 22 Spyder to the members fleet, alongside their fleet of Ballistic RIBs, Finnmaster sportsboats and a Pilot 7 and a Merry Fisher 795 Marlin.
