To the East of Portsmouth lies the two harbours of Langstone and Chichester. Both stunning in different ways. Langstone is home of Farlington Marshes (great for bird watching), striking views of the South Downs and has a variety of creeks and marshes to explore.
Chichester Harbour is an AONB (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) – the name says it all. You can anchor up off East Head beach, a popular summertime destination. Or explore the harbours four main channels – up to Emsworth, Prinsted, Bosham and Dell Quay, via Itchenor and Birdham.
Both these harbours are accessed via a fairly narrow, well marked channel, with strong tides running. So not dissimilar to entering Portsmouth Harbour.
